Quantum at Boot Camp by Kharkiv IT Cluster

May 24, 2024

Quantum actively supports initiatives that help young professionals grow in the IT industry. One such program is Boot Camp by Kharkiv IT Cluster — an intensive training course where students, junior developers, and IT enthusiasts gain real-world experience and a deeper understanding of how the industry operates.

For two months, participants worked on real IT projects, following the entire journey from idea to final product. They were guided by mentors — experienced specialists from top IT companies who shared knowledge, provided direction, and helped overcome both technical and organizational challenges. Quantum was proud to take part in this initiative, offering our own experts as mentors for one of the teams.

How does BootCamp work?

The program is designed to immerse participants in the real-world workflow of IT teams. BootCamp follows a structured framework that includes several key stages:

  1. Selection process – candidates go through testing or interviews to assess their knowledge, motivation, and readiness for an intensive program.
  2. Team formation – participants are grouped into teams, including future developers, designers, testers, and project managers.
  3. Project development – teams receive a real IT product to work on, with guidance from experienced mentors.
  4. Final presentation – participants present their completed projects to industry professionals and potential employers.

For many, BootCamp is their first major step into the IT industry. Participants not only master new technologies and methodologies but also learn how to collaborate effectively, solve real-world challenges, and present their ideas with confidence — all essential skills for a successful IT career.

Quantum’s role in the project

Quantum wasn’t just an observer — we were actively involved in mentoring the next generation of IT professionals. Our experts, Serhii Sliadniev and Stanislav Iosifov, guided one of the teams throughout the program.

Together, they developed Career | Skill Atlas, an interactive career planning tool designed to help users analyze their skills, interests, and market trends to make well-informed career decisions.

By working on this project, 12 participants gained hands-on experience in:

  • Software development
  • UI/UX design and interface prototyping
  • IT project management
  • Quality assurance and testing
  • Solving real-world business challenges and adapting to industry needs

Why Does It Matter?

BootCamp is more than just a training program—it’s a unique opportunity for young professionals to gain real IT experience, receive expert guidance, and build their first working product.

  • Mentorship and hands-on learning make the experience as close as possible to working in a real IT company.
  • Networking with industry experts helps participants connect with potential employers and mentors.
  • A real project in their portfolio gives participants a strong advantage when applying for IT jobs.

Quantum remains committed to supporting educational initiatives and helping young talent grow. We believe that programs like BootCamp empower future IT professionals, strengthen the tech community, and open new opportunities for innovation.

Career | Skill Atlas – What’s Next?
